This house is part of a row of houses and offices built in 1990 with a nod to the Zaanse Schans. We have renovated and enlarged the house. The ground floor has been enlarged by an extension at the front, so that a lot of sunlight enters the kitchen in the morning. The former indoor garage has been added to the living room which is also enlarged to the Amstel side. We have made all the windows storey high, so that a greater experience of the Amstel and the garden inside the house. The first floor has been enlarged with a bedroom and bathroom. The entrence in the middle of the house is two storey high with a turning wooden staircase giving access to all spaces. The perception of the surrounding area has increased due to the sight lines and larger windows. The top floor has been enlarged by lifting the entire hood 60 cm. This allows an extra bathroom and 4 meter high office/bedroom space. In addition, the house is energy neutral, thanks to a heat pump in combination with underfloor heating and solar cells. The heat pump installation is located in a garden basement with glass roof combined with a wine cellar.
